![]() ![]() ![]() Well needless to say my panic became a peaceful acceptance of what may come.but i kept trying anyways.i somehow got out.and amazingly so did my dog after being in the freezing water more then 10 min!! It was a miracle.angels. Everytime I pushed up on the ice it cracked.we were in trouble. So yes I went in and at first I screamed for help.but silence.no one around.just the faint call of geese. well she has never swam in her life!! And she was panicking trying to climb out.I couldn't stand and watch my dog die so I started out onto the ice knowing very well that if it couldn't hold a 30 ib dog it's not holding a 90 ib girl. Well I froze and watch in fear as she came to a sliding stop and. My dog suddenly took off onto the ice after geese flapping around in the water in the middle part of the lake. The lake was frozen.well except for the middle. I used to live behind the lake in 1991-95.one year when i was 15 yrs old I took my dog on the usual Saturday morning run around the lake( i had her off leash cause at the time it wasnt a park and no one was ever there) It was beginning of March and we just had a big snowfall the previous weeks and it was starting to warm up a bit. ![]()
